Dr. Gary W. Scearce, is the founder and owner of Eagle Eye Optique. He is very thorough in the exam room and explains his findings and recommendations in plain language. In addition to a general family practice of optometry, he specializes in:
· harder-to-fit contact lenses
· treating red eyes
· glaucoma
· minor eye injuries
· low vision
· co-managing cataract and Lasik surgeries
He has a strong interest in nutrition.
Dr. Scearce is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Optometry (O.D. 1978). His wife, Vickie, is a graduate of the Optometric Technician program at IU. She is a very important part of the practice. Their practice opened in Crown Point in 1980 and moved to its present location in 2008. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, and is a past president of the Northwest Indiana Optometric Society.
Dr. Scearce enjoys gardening, cooking (and eating), home improvements, scuba diving, travel and music. Gary and Vickie are very active at the Crown Point First United Methodist Church. They have two adult children, one of whom is married, and two extremely wonderful grandchildren.
