EYE DISEASES
Cataracts
Cataracts are a cloudiness if the crystalline lens inside the eye and are usually a normal part of the aging process. Cataracts affect vision by scattering or blocking light as it passes through the lens of the eye. Symptoms of cataracts include cloudy or blurred vision, night time glare, faded colors, and double vision or ghost images in one eye. Fortunately it can usually be treated with surgery and an intraocular lens implant. Most people have only a small distance prescription after cataract surgery but still need help for reading. Dr. Scearce does not do eye surgery but he routinely co-manges postoperative care with surgeons.
